    • Gather information

    • Select content

    • Organize the material

    • Prepare an outline or site map

    • Sketch out and plan the layout

    • Test the layout with users

    • Revise based on user feedback

    • Create first draft or partial draft 

    • Select or create art

    • Work both text and art together

    • Test draft with users

    • Revise and complete

    • Fact check and review for accuracy

    • Edit for consistency and usability

    • Ensure accessibility standards are met

    • Copyedit and proofread

    • Test with users again

    • Repeat until document is finished and works for users

    • Copyedit and proofread again

    • Do whatever is technologically necessary before release

    • Produce or print and release

    • Gather feedback 

    • Use feedback to revise

    • Update designs
